Job Description: Northwest Justice Project (NJP) is a not-for-profit law firm with a mission of Combatting Injustice • Strengthening Communities • Protecting Human Dignity. NJP secures justice for people in or near poverty through high quality legal advocacy that promotes the long-term well-being of low-income individuals, families and communities through legal representation, community partnerships, education and other advocacy.
NJP seeks applications from qualified attorneys to work within the Health Justice Initiative (HJI), our medical-legal partnership, who primarily works to address the health-harming legal needs of low-income patients through Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Providence regional clinics, assist patients housed at Eastern State Hospital with legal needs, and work to assist with health harming legal needs of marginalized communities within the service area of the Spokane field office. This is a regular full-time position covered by NJP’s collective bargaining agreement. This position is funded through a grant that requires renewal annually.
The attorney in this role will work to represent and advise patients and families who are referred to the HJI by their medical provider.
Northwest Justice Project is interested in qualified candidates with professional, personal and/or service experience that allows them to contribute to and support the legal aid community’s commitment to race equity.
Starting salary is based upon years of experience, with an annual salary range starting at $83,548 to $146,692. NJP offers compensation for those who are regularly asked to use a language other than English in their work.
