Job Description: Northwest Justice Project (NJP) is Washington State’s largest civil legal aid provider and operates as a statewide law firm.

Washington State is fortunate to have a legislature that understands the importance of civil legal aid and takes meaningful action, including ground breaking legislation in Washington - making it the first state in the country to create a statewide right to counsel in eviction cases.

If NJP and Washington State are aligned with your career goals, we welcome your application for Managing Attorney of the Eviction Prevention Unit in Central Washington. As the Managing Attorney you will be part of the management team of a dynamic civil legal aid organization serving low-income communities. This position can be based out of NJP’s Kennewick, Wenatchee, or Yakima office.

NJP provides free legal assistance to address fundamental human needs such as housing, family safety, healthcare, education, and more. The core work includes effective client-centered advocacy and robust outreach to and partnerships with our client communities. This position offers significant opportunity for professional growth and development within a larger statewide legal aid program.

NJP expects all staff to uphold the REJI commitments and approach their role with a desire to learn and grow in this area. The Managing Attorney plays a critical leadership role in advancing NJP’s REJI commitments and our work to center race equity within their team, support staff’s anti-racist growth and development, and must be committed to identify, and work to address NJP’s shortcomings and challenges in advancing our REJI commitments.
