Law Student Scholarships

The Application is open for our 2018 Latina/o Bar Association of Washington Scholarship Foundation law student scholarship! 

Scholarship Criteria and Instructions: Scholarships are awarded to law students who demonstrate leadership and a commitment to advancing the rights and voices of the Latina/o community. A complete application includes all of the following materials: (1) this Scholarship Application; (2) a Declaration of Financial Need; and (3) a brief essay of no more than 250 words. Your essay should include information you want the scholarship committee to consider. For example: where you were born or raised; what languages you speak; whether you are the first in your family to attend law school/college/high school; what community service work you have performed; any prior achievements, recognitions, or awards; or what obstacles you have overcome in your life. Please do not feel compelled to address every suggested topic. Although it is not required, as part of your application you may submit up to two (2) letters of recommendation and a current resume. Scholarship Award Amount and Recognition: Scholarships range from $1,500 to $3,000, as determined by the scholarship committee depending on the number of scholarships awarded. If you are selected, all scholarship recipients are expected to attend the Latina/o Bar Association of Washington (LBAW) Awards Gala, to be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. Scholarship recipients at will be guests of LBAWSF and registration will be complimentary.
